Privacy policy

The personal data collected on Recruteo is processed by EXTERNAM (SIREN 938 754 371), a limited liability company whose registered office is at 88 rue des Plantes, 91200 Athis-Mons, France, acting as data controller. For any question about your data, write to confidentialite@recruteo.mg.

• Identity data: name, email address, phone number.
• Account data: role (candidate or recruiter), company, password (stored encrypted / hashed).
• Application data: cover letter, information provided when applying.
• Usage data: pages viewed, searches performed, time spent. It feeds our statistics and, when you view a job while signed in, lets the recruiter who published it know that you took an interest (see section 4).
• Documents you upload: CV, profile photo, attachments sent through the messaging feature (images, files, voice messages).
• Messages exchanged with recruiters through the site's messaging feature.
• Precise location, only if you choose to share it in a message: it is never collected in the background.
• Notification subscription: if you accept them, the technical identifier provided by your browser or phone, required to send you alerts.
• Purchase history: courses, plans or credits ordered, amount, transaction reference and the Mobile Money number used to pay. We never store any bank details or secret code. If you choose online payment, it is processed by our provider Papi (Ibonia, Antananarivo), which receives your name, email address, the amount and the name of the purchase; your card number or secret code is never sent to us.

We process your data to manage your account, connect candidates and recruiters, handle your applications, produce anonymised statistics and send you service-related communications. This processing is based on the performance of the service you request, your consent, and our legitimate interest in improving the platform.

When you apply for a job, your application details are sent to the recruiter concerned. Your data may also be processed by our technical providers (hosting), strictly within the limits necessary to run the service. We never sell your data.

Viewing a job: if you are SIGNED IN when you view a job ad, the recruiter who published it sees your name, how many times you visited and the date of your last visit — even if you do not apply. Your email address and phone number are not disclosed for this purpose. If you are not signed in, your visit stays anonymous: we keep no data that could identify you. You may object to this display at any time by writing to confidentialite@recruteo.mg (see section 7).

Your account data is kept for as long as your account is active. Applications are kept for up to 24 months. You can request the deletion of your account and your data at any time.

Passwords are protected by hashing and are never stored in plain text. Exchanges with the site are encrypted when the HTTPS protocol is used. Despite our efforts, no system is infallible: we encourage you to choose a strong password.

In accordance with Malagasy law no. 2014-038 on the protection of personal data, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to and port your data. To exercise these rights, contact us at confidentialite@recruteo.mg or via our contact page.

Recruteo is also available as an Android app named “Recruteo Madagascar”, published by EXTERNAM on Google Play under the developer name “Externam Studio”. The app displays the same website and follows the same policy.

If you accept notifications, your browser or phone sends us a technical subscription identifier. It is used solely to alert you when a new job matches your search. It cannot identify you elsewhere, is never shared with a third party, and is deleted as soon as you withdraw the permission or delete your account.

We use Google Analytics to measure site traffic and the Meta pixel to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. Both set cookies and send Google and Meta browsing data together with a technical identifier for your device.

The Meta pixel is loaded as soon as you arrive on the site, even before you answer the banner or if you decline it: it measures our advertising campaigns. Google Analytics is only activated after you consent through the banner.

Recruteo sets a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you logged in; it does not require your consent. Google analytics cookies are only set after you agree; Meta pixel cookies are set on arrival (see section 9).

This policy may be updated. Any substantial change will be signalled to you on the site.
